Social Security will study observations of the Medical Association to the resolution imposing fines and imprisonment

<p>Santo Domingo. – The observations submitted by the Dominican Medical Association (CMD) to Resolution 584-01, of the National Council of <a href="https://eldia.com.do/resolucion-cnss-penalizaria-con-multas-millonarias-medicos-y-clinicas/">Social Security (CNSS),</a> will be heard. Or rather, revised.</p>
<p>This was stated by the general manager of the CNSS, Dr. Edward Guzmán, who reported that the Dominican Association of Health Risk Insurers (ADARS) did not finally submit any appeal for reconsideration, as the medical union did.</p>
<p>He revealed that the medical union and the other sectors represented in the CNSS will be summoned to a session in due course.</p>
<p>He denied that the CMD was not invited to participate in the public hearings where the resolution was discussed, as denounced by that organization that groups, by law, Dominican doctors and approved foreigners.</p>
<p>In statements released by the www.resumendesalud.net portal, he specified that the sanctions contained in the resolution are based on previous regulations.</p>
<p>He added that the evacuation of the resolution took place after a normal process in which all the actors represented in the CNSS participated.</p>

<p>Context</p>
<p>Resolution 584-03 would penalize doctors, health centers and Health Risk Insurers (ARS) with fines of up to 5,800,000 pesos.</p>
<p>The CMD filed a motion for reconsideration seeking to modify or set aside the resolution.</p>
<p>The Regulations on Infractions and Sanctions, approved by the CNSS on the 15th of this month, allow the same ARS/IDOPPRIL to apply these economic sanctions to the Providers, without identifying to whom they will deliver the money withheld from the doctors and health centers.</p>
<p>The CMD maintains that, of the 37 infractions listed for the ARS and the IDOPPRIL, only 6 are classified as serious, 15 moderate and 16 minor.</p>
<p>He added that of the 28 providers listed, 9 are considered serious, 12 moderate and 7 mild.</p>
<p>ADARS and the National Association of Private Clinics (ANDECLIP) coincide in the opposition to this resolution, the latter entity even presented the reconsideration in the same instance of the CMD.</p>
